IPOH, 8 DECEMBER 2025 \u2013 Batik Air today expands its domestic footprint with the launch of the new Ipoh\u2013Singapore route, marking the Perak capital\u2019s debut in the airline\u2019s growing network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This inaugural service not only opens a fresh gateway for travellers but also positions Ipoh as one of the most accessible heritage destinations for visitors from Singapore \u2014 Malaysia\u2019s strongest tourism market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singapore remains Malaysia\u2019s largest source of international visitors, with 14.0 million arrivals recorded from January to August 2025. This figure reflects a significant increase of 18.1% compared to the same period in 2024. This rising demand reflects a growing appetite for short-haul cultural escapes and weekend travel \u2014 making Ipoh an ideal new entry point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Known for its charming Old Town, British colonial-era streetscapes, limestone hills, iconic caves,and a culinary scene celebrated across the region, Ipoh has emerged as a top choice for travellers seeking authentic experiences. With the introduction of direct flights from Singapore, visitors can now enjoy smoother, quicker access to one of Malaysia\u2019s most atmospheric cities, while travellers from Perak benefit from a comfortable, seamless link to Singapore\u2019s global hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Batik Air Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy, said: \u201cThe Ipoh\u2013Singapore service is a meaningful addition to our network, reflecting Batik Air\u2019s commitment to connecting vibrant Malaysian cities with thriving regional markets. By investing in routes like Ipoh\u2013Singapore, Batik Air aims to support long-term tourism growth, stimulate regional development, and position Malaysia as a connected, future-ready destination in the heart of Southeast Asia,\u201d he added Perak State Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee YB Loh Sze Yee said that the Perak State Government warmly welcomes Batik Air\u2019s inaugural Ipoh\u2013 Singapore service, which strengthens Ipoh\u2019s international connectivity and reflects the airline\u2019s confidence in Perak\u2019s growing tourism potential. This new route will support our efforts to attract more visitors, boost local tourism, and create broader opportunities for business and community development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Greater global connectivity will bring added convenience to Perakians, stimulate economic activity, and open new possibilities for Perak as a rising international destination,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new direct connectivity strengthens Malaysia\u2019s tourism appeal and supports our goals for VM2026, where we aim to welcome 47 million international visitors and highlight the country\u2019s diverse, world-class travel experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
