Herbalife, a premier health and wellness company, community and platform, todayreleased findings from its Asia Pacific (APAC) Health and Economic Empowerment Survey 2025. The survey points to a gap between Malaysians\u2019 perceptions of their current health and their financial well-being, even as optimism for the year ahead remains strong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the 1,000 Malaysians surveyed, 61% say their current health and overall well-being is \u201cvery good\u201d or better. However, fewer Malaysians feel as positive about their economic well-being today, with 28% rating it \u201cvery good\u201d or better. Even so, more than half (51%) expect their economic well-being to improve over the next 12 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conducted in October 2025, the APAC Health and Economic Empowerment Survey polled 8,505 respondents, including 2,245 entrepreneurs, across 11 markets: Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The survey also found that entrepreneurs in Malaysia tend to be more optimistic and empowered than non-entrepreneurs. More than three in five entrepreneurs (61%) expect their economic well-being to improve in the next 12 months, compared with 47% of non-entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs are also more likely to feel empowered to make decisions that improve their financial stability (54%) than non-entrepreneurs(32%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of health outlook, Malaysians remain positive, with57% expecting their health and overall well-being to improve in the next 12 months. They also cite family (58%) as the biggest influence on their health, followed by work (46%) and the economy (35%). While 39% are highly confident they can achieve their health goals in the next 12 months, only 43%say they find it easy to take the steps needed to get there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past 12 months, Malaysians have taken steps to improve their well-being. More than half (54%) spent more time exercising, 45% gave up unhealthy habits and 41% dedicated more time to well-being activities. Looking ahead, these intentions remain strong, with 55% planning to increase exercise time, 48% intending to give up unhealthy habits and 41% committing to more well-being activities in the coming year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While optimism for improvement is high, financial empowerment remains a challenge. Only 38% of Malaysians feel empowered to make decisions that improve their financial stability and economic well-being. When it comes to financial well-being, Malaysians point to the economy as the top influence (45%), followed by family and friends (43%) and work (35%). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To strengthen their finances, Malaysians are focusing on practical measures. In the past year, 60% reduced spending on non-essential items, and 29% spent time studying investment options or actively investing. These behaviours are expected to continue, with 55% planning to cut non-essential spending and 31% intending to focus on investment opportunities in the next 12 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The survey also highlights clear support needs among Malaysians. More than half (57%) want information on waysto supplement income, while 42% are seeking expert advice on investing or growing savings and 36% want guidance on starting a new business or side job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
